Information Objects

The second article in a series by Rich Ziade at basement.org on Information Objects, based on the premise of “Applying Cognitive Load Theory & Object-Oriented Thinking to Information Design”. This article, on the importance of open spaces in design, talks about the benefits of using open spaces as a way to create intuitive designs that reduce users’ cognitive overhead and how open designs often convey a more powerful and dramatic message.
(Rich’s first article asked why we love rounded corners so much. Some great thoughts and an interesting discussion in the comments.)
