While the rest of his grade school friends were learning how to kickflip, Steve St. Pierre was learning how to make their skateboards look a little bit better, sketching artwork on the sidelines. And making things look a little better is what drove him to where he is today. Joining the 76design team as lead designer in August of 2009, Mr. St. Pierre brings a ridiculous amount of passion to an already fervent team with an eye for the little things and a knack for creative problem solving.
A graduate of Algonquin College's advertising program, Mr. St. Pierre found himself both art directing and providing copy to the majority of his work through school. That same work won him "Best Student Creative" in 2004 from the Canadian Marketing Association, and eventually had him working as a copywriting intern at Arnold Worldwide in Toronto after his graduation. His pen may have been writing words during the day, but at night, it was busy sketching out posters and logos and promotional pieces for an assortment of freelance design clients. Soon, the design work took over and Mr. St. Pierre went on his own full-time.
After spending time in both Toronto and Vancouver, doing work for clients such as Pepsi, Money Mart, and Chili's Restaurants, Mr. St. Pierre yearned for the camaraderie that comes along with working in a studio. He was lucky enough to land back home in Ottawa within the confines of 76design. His infectious enthusiasm and work ethic have solidified him as an integral member of the team and garnered positive results for clients such as Health Canada, AllState, and the City of Ottawa.
