Steve Lounsbury joined 76design in April of 2007.
Steve provides programming support and services on client web projects. He works with the 76design team to provide clients with counsel in the area of web application design, development, content management systems, database design and management, server administration, social media tools, and web metrics.
Steve possesses skills relevant to web development for the new wave of Internet applications and social media tools as well as traditional web sites. His skill set includes: PHP 5, MySQL, JavaScript, JavaScript libraries: Prototype and jQuery, AJAX, Wordpress, Wordpress MU, Wordpress plugin development, rich internet applications, object oriented development, PHP frameworks CakePHP and Zend Framework, custom content management systems, and unix system administration.
Most recently, Steve has been the developer on the Ottawa Sport and Social Club website redesign and community development. The project is a large rewrite of the OSSC website, providing scores tracking, team roster management and online sports registration. His growing client list includes Allstate Insurance, The Ottawa Hospital, The Canada Tourism Commission, The Canadian Avalanche Foundation, Sharp Electronics, Prime Restaurants of Canada, Canadian Steel Producers Association, First Nations Tax Commission, Maisonneuve Magazine, Ottawa Race Weekend, Hockey Hall of Fame, Travelocity, Canadian Public Relations Society, Green Street Inc, Catholic Children’s Aid Society, and the Canadian Agency for Drugs and Technologies in Health.
Before joining 76design, Steve worked as a web developer and designer for Videora Holdings Inc, and Carleton University. While completing his post-secondary education at Carleton University he was a co-op software developer at Canadian Bank Note Inc.
Steve also provides project planning and management, training, information architecture design and consultation, programming, quality assurance/control services to 76design clients.
Originally from Sarnia, Ontario, Steve moved to Ottawa in 2001 to pursue his education. He holds a Bachelor of Engineering from Carleton University.
