Shaun Scanlon joined 76design in July of 2008. He provides programming support and services on client web projects. He works with the 76design team to provide clients with counsel in the area of web and Flash development, social media tools and web metrics including Search Engine Optimization (SEO).
While working at 76design Shaun has worked with the following clients: Allstate, Association of Fundraising Professionals, Beechwood Cemetery, CADTH, Canadian Institute for Health Information, CCSAI, Children's Aid Society of Toronto, Citizenship and Immigration Canada, City of Ottawa, Codecan, Commissionaires, CNW Group, Cuisinart, Enablence, Enstream, Gloc8, Health Canada, Herbal Magic, International Centre, International Datacasting Corp., Langevin, Lockheed Martin, Ministry of Tourism, National Council of Visible Minorities, Ottawa Public Library, Paracel Labs, Perley-Robertson Hill & McDougall, Prime Restaurants, and Zoompass.
Over the majority of his career, Shaun has spent his time developing various websites, social media tools, as well as rich internet applications. He has a diverse background of programming experience having used the following list of languages in the past: ActionScript, ASP, C, C++, CGI, CSH, CSS, DHTML, HTML, Java, JavaScript (including AJAX), JSP, Lingo, PERL, PHP, Python, Ruby, SQL, VHDL, VBScript, XML. In addition to development in various languages, Mr. Scanlon has also worked with several frameworks and content management systems for various languages, such as: Javascript: JQuery, Prototype, Script.aculo.us. PHP: CakePHP, Drupal, Symfony, Wordpress, Wordpress MU, Zend. Ruby: Ruby on Rails.
Before joining 76design, Shaun worked various jobs as a web developer and designer in several different industries including federal and provincial governments, academia, and the private sector. His private sector positions have ranged from Oil and Shipping, Real Estate, to Video Game Development Industries.
Originally from Vancouver, British Columbia, Shaun moved to Ottawa in May 2008. He holds a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science from the University of Victoria.
