Laura began her career as a media coordinator for Ottawa’s only stand-alone media buying and planning agency. Soon after her arrival, Vector Media recognized Laura’s detail-obsessed attitude by promoting her to media buyer. In this position, she played a key role in developing media campaigns supporting brand awareness, and lead generation objectives. She worked closely with creative agencies, media vendors and clients to ensure all stages of the media process went according to schedule. Some of the clients Laura managed campaigns for include National Gallery of Canada, Export Development Canada, Practice Solutions and Social Sciences and Humanities Research Council.
In 2006, Laura took on the role of production manager at a graphic design agency in Ottawa, where she managed the daily operations of a 22 person studio. Managing a production schedule for 13 graphic designers on a daily basis (more than 140 active weekly jobs) provided an opportunity to demonstrate both managerial and diplomatic skills. She also provided backup support to four account representatives working in sales and customer service.
She aided in the development of an internal organizational software system to handle billings and bookings for all active client files while overseeing the full quality-control functions of the team.
Augmenting her professional managerial skills with duties in human resources makes Laura a well-rounded team player capable of selecting, recruiting and hiring employees and contract workers. Ms. Mindorff has scheduled and managed many online and offline projects since her career at 76design began in 2008. Namely, these clients include: International Datacasting, Langevin Learning Services, Allstate, The Ottawa Hospital, Canada Newswire, Ottawa Public Library, Public Health Agency of Canada, and Visa Canada.
