Joseph Thornley has been a driving force behind the establishment of the Third Tuesday Social Media events which bring together social media enthusiasts and communicators to explore new developments in social media and their impact on society, organizations and citizens. Since 2008, Third Tuesday events have been organized across Canada, in Toronto, Montreal, Vancouver, Ottawa and New Brunswick. He is a member of the Board of Directors of the Canadian Council of Public Relations Firms. He also is a member of the Society for New Communications Research, the Counsellors Academy of the Public Relations Society of America (PRSA), the Canadian Public Relations Society (CPRS), the International Association of Business Communicators (IABC), and the Web Analytics Association (WAA).
Keelan Green is heavily involved in the community; he serves on several volunteer boards and committees, including the Canadian Public Relations Society Ottawa Chapter, the Canadian Committee for World Press Freedom, the National Arts Centre Opera Lyra Black & White Soiree Committee and the Salvation Army Ottawa Advisory Board Member. He is a member of the Canadian Public Relations Society, the International Association of Business Communicators, the Canadian Association of Defence and Security Industries, the Canadian Club of Ottawa, the Economic Club of Canada and Rivermead Golf Club.
Leisha is enthusiastic when it comes to offering her time to help build a better community. She currently sits on the Board of Directors as Chair of the CHEO BBQ Volleyball & Ultimate Frisbee Tournament. Over the past two years, she has contributed in raising a total of $85,000 for the CHEO Foundation in hopes to build a stronger future for the children of Eastern Ontario.
Leisha volunteered with the Canadian Public Relations Society in leading the planning and execution of its first-ever National Capital Region Chapter Awards Gala in the Fall of 2008. The event displayed great results and was such a success that it has become a semi-annual awards ceremony; professionals in the communications industry are excited for our next event.
She frequently helps coordinate Canada’s Social Media Meetups - Third Tuesday Ottawa; providing opportunities for communications professionals to meet one another and explore new developments in social media and emerging best practices.
Brett Tackaberry is very active in various charitable activities. Brett currently sits on the board of directors for the CHEO BBQ Volleyball & Ultimate Frisbee Tournament as Director of Recreation and Activities. He has also founded the Ottawa Chapter of Mustaches for Kids (M4K), raising money for the Make-a-Wish Foundation.
Laura Mindorff has a passion for art and design. She is currently involved in the local art scene in Ottawa by securing a booth at Art in the Park in the Glebe for the past 3 years, where she sells her designs printed on canvas. As well, Ms. Mindorff has donated artwork to various charity events including the Rideau Valley Wildlife Sanctuary and the Crohn’s & Colitis Foundation of Canada.
Ryan Knuth participates in several charity events each year, including the Ottawa Dragon Boat Race Festival, IAMS Wiggle Waggle Walkathon, and Mustaches for Kids, to raise funds and awareness for local and national organizations. He also uses his skills to help with marketing, advertising, merchandising, and a web presence for the Puppets Up! International Puppet Festival in Almonte, Ontario.
Scott Hardy is currently a volunteer at Peacebuild as a web-master. He is active in promoting and recruiting for Mustaches for Kids (M4K). Mr. Hardy is known for performing guitar at Ottawa-based chartiy events.
